AVOID SCAMMERS!
🚨 Protect Yourself from Scammers on Discord 🚨
If you’re trading on Discord, it’s important to know that no trade is 100% safe—but you can take steps to dramatically reduce your risk. Keep this phrase in mind:
“Trust, but verify.”
Even if a name looks familiar, double-check—is it the real person or an imposter?
90% of the time fraud happens with somone impersonating someone well known in the community.
✅ Red Flags & Smart Safety Steps:
1) Check for Mutual Servers (Not Just Mutual Friends)
- If someone DMs you and you don’t share any servers, that’s a massive red flag.
- Scammers often use cloned usernames and reach out from outside your shared communities.
- Ignore mutual friend count—it’s easy to fake and gives a false sense of trust.
2) Start the Conversation from a Known Server
- Instead of replying to a DM, find their profile in a shared server (e.g., WOTF or Blokpax).
- Click their name and start a fresh DM—this helps ensure you’re messaging the real user, not a fake account.
3) Publicly Tag and Ask for Verification
- Tag the user in a channel and ask them to confirm they’re speaking with you in DMs.
- Ask for others to vouch—but be cautious: even one false vouch can be dangerous if the scammer has infiltrated the community.
4) Watch for Pushy Behavior or Weird Vibes
- If someone seems overly eager, makes the deal feel urgent, or anything feels “off”—pause the deal.
- Trust your gut.
- Ask a trusted community member to act as a middleman or escrow—many are happy to help.
👀 Final Tip:
Never share your seed phrase, private keys, or passwords. Ever.
No legit trader, mod, or admin will ever ask for them.
